How to Purchase Tickets
Q1. Can I reserve seats for tickets?
A: Nantou Bus provides reservation services for the following routes: Taiwan Tourist Shuttle - Sun Moon Lake Route, Xitou Route, Beigang River Route, and Hehuanshan Route. All reservations must be made online (no phone reservations are accepted). For other routes, tickets must be purchased on the day of travel, and boarding is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Q2. Where can I buy tickets?
A: Tickets can be purchased at any Nantou Bus station or terminal. Alternatively, you can prepare exact change to purchase a ticket from the driver when boarding (the driver cannot provide change). We recommend using an electronic payment card (EasyCard, iPASS) for convenient and economical travel.
Q3. Why are receipts (uniform invoices) not issued to passengers when purchasing bus tickets?
A: According to the "Regulations Governing the Use of Uniform Invoices," ticket revenue from transportation businesses is exempt from issuing uniform invoices. Therefore, purchasing tickets or paying fares using electronic payment cards like EasyCard or iPASS is within the scope of exemption. If passengers require proof of purchase, they may request a receipt from the station or the driver!
Uniform Invoice Use Regulations, Chapter 2, Article 4
Businesses that meet any of the following criteria may be exempt from using or issuing uniform invoices:
1. Small-scale businesses.
2. Massage businesses legally established and operated by visually impaired persons, where all massage services are provided by visually impaired persons.
3. Taxi services and the passenger ticket revenue portion of other transportation businesses.
4. Duty-free shops and offshore island duty-free shopping stores legally established.
Q4. Can I use an electronic payment card (EasyCard, iPASS, etc.) to board the bus?
A: Yes, you can. Please remember to tap your card when both boarding and alighting to prevent your card from being locked.

Q4. How do I purchase and use an e-ticket package?
A: To purchase an e-ticket package, buy it online and pay with a credit card. The system will send a payment success notification and the product QR code to your designated email. A: Paper packages are issued once a year. After purchase, bus tickets must be used within 15 days from the departure date, and the remaining items are valid until December 31st of the current year. Once an item is redeemed, it is only valid for use on the redemption day. For example, if you redeem the Sun Moon Lake Ropeway ticket on 12/1, you must ride the ropeway on 12/1.
Q6. Can I get a refund for an unused package?
A: Yes, refunds are possible. Please contact the counter at any Nantou Bus station or call Chingjing Travel Agency at 049-2983589. *Refund Rules: A handling fee of NT$30 will be charged. If parts of the package have been used, the selling price of the used items will be deducted from the refund.

A: Most Nantou Bus coaches have luggage compartments underneath. Please refer to Article VII of the Nantou Bus Passenger Transportation Standard Contract for related regulations on carrying luggage.
Q2. Can I bring a bicycle onto the bus?
A: You must dismantle the bicycle (remove both wheels) and place it in a dedicated bicycle bag before boarding (it must be stored in the undercarriage luggage compartment).
